Another Record Year in 2008 – Excellent Outlook for 2009 As Well
(Willich, November 10, 2008) Pro2 is headed into the final months of the year with a record order volume of a cumulative total of 30 million euros up to the third quarter of 2008. The Executive Board anticipates an increase in revenues and profits for the year 2008 as a whole compared to 2007. Overall sales for the Pro2 Group will be around 45 million euros in 2008 – an increase of over ten percent compared to 2007.
The company focused primarily on the integration of the former G.A.S-Anlagenbau within the Pro2 Group as well as expansion of business activities in France. International activities in Asia were promoted by the establishment of Pro2 Energy Asia Ltd. in Thailand. For Pro2, Thailand is the ideal platform for developing the Asian market along with further Asian countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia or Indonesia. Relevant sectors include the foodstuffs, starch, palm oil, waste and paper industries with biogas utilisation from residual and waste products. Within the scope of its international activities, Asia, along with Latin America, is one of the most important future markets for Pro2.
Thailand is planning on increasing its share of renewable energy in power generation to eight percent in 2011 and twelve percent by 2020. This promising development offers German service providers with the relevant energy and environmental technology capabilities myriad opportunities in the market in Thailand.
Pro2 is also quite successful in the former CIS countries. The company will fulfil contracts totalling more than ten million euros in the coal mine gas market segment in the Ukraine and Kazakhstan by the end of the year.
The new Renewable Energy Sources Act (Erneuerbare Energien Gesetz, EEG) and the new CHP Act will also enable Pro2 to generate new growth in Germany next year. Pro2 Executive Achim Wörsdörfer: “2008 will be yet another record year for us in sales and profits. The main drivers behind our international business are the areas of landfill and coal mine gas. The outlook for 2009 is excellent.”
